The cast of Voltron
34 characters catalogued, each with the voice credit where one is on the record and an explicit note where it is not.
Grouped by faction and by series, because the 1984 show and Legendary Defender do not share a villain structure. Where the American dub changed what happened to a character, the entry says what the Japanese original did instead.
How the cast is organised
The archive holds 34 characters, grouped by faction first and by series second, because on Voltron those two axes genuinely disagree with each other. The 1984 show sets the Galaxy Alliance against Planet Doom and, in an entirely separate war, against the Drule Empire; Legendary Defender throws both out and puts the Galra in their place, with Zarkon rewritten as the original Black Paladin rather than a tyrant who simply turned up.
A name can also mean two different people. Takashi Shirogane is the Black Paladin and the leader of the team in 2016, but in 1984 the same character was renamed Sven, mortally wounded in episode six of the Japanese original, and quietly written out; the dub said he had been sent to Planet Ebb for treatment and later reused his younger brother's footage as his own. Pidge is a boy in 1984 and Katie Holt in 2016.
Where the American version changed what happened, the entry says what the Japanese original did instead. Those changes are not trivia. They are most of the difference between the two shows.
